Mother India is set in a tranquil bush setting amongst the farms of Middle Dural. The restaurant’s décor of traditional art and artifacts is accompanied with a sumptuous Indian cuisine prepared by the chefs from different parts of India.  

On arrival every customer is offered a complimentary Tomato soup flavoured with chef  Kushi Ram Rana’s surprising spices as you browse through the menu. Sorbets are also served on the house to freshen the palate before the main course arrives.

The menu offers a gamut of dishes covering various ethnic regions of India taking you through a journey of fascinating flavors of Goa, Malabar, Hyderabad, and Northern India. Dishes include a spicy repertoire of chicken, lamb, fish, seafood preparations, Tandoori entrees, tangy fritter Palak Patta chaat, refreshing yogurt raitas to richly flavored comforting legume (dal) and creative vegetarian varieties. A full dessert menu with traditional desserts, decadent ice-creams, coffees and teas will leave you with a memorable lasting impression.

The finest produce is used to keep up to the freshness of the country where spice growing is a passionate tradition and an enduring romance.

Prices range from $8 for entrees and from $14.90 for the main course. Banquets are also available for larger groups.

The restaurant can seat 120-140 people and is ideal for groups and parties.

The Restaurant’s is fully licensed and its great selection of beers and wines, are additional enticements along with its live entertainment from Wednesday to Saturday.

History of Mother India

Mother India restaurant was established in 2000 in a unique location in Middle Dural, surrounded by scenic farms, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

It is now regarded as one of Sydney's most well known and respected Indian restaurants, where besides intimate dining many functions including wedding receptions take place.

Mother India restaurant has also been featured on Sydney's Channel 7 - Sydney Weekender program, and has been rated as one of the best Indian restaurants in the Northern District of Sydney.
